I've done a couple of NM BH 357 Bisley grip frame conversions and I wanted a 22 to go with them. Surprisingly, it takes fewer parts than I realized. - A suitable donor gun. I found a mid to late 80's Stainless NM Single Six Convertible plow handle with a 5.5" barrel for a decent price. It was a little road worn but stainless is generally easy to fix any cosmetic issues. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned since it left the factory, especially the internal parts. The barrel took about 2 hours to flush out all the lead. It was more of a .20 caliber instead of a .22 just looking at the build up. - One MidwayUSA stainless Bisley grip frame - the same that can be used on most NM Blackhawks. - Some Hogue wood grip panels. - Two 6-40 3/8" inch screws to replace the upper grip frame screws. I picked up a couple at a local ACE hardware store that had a small supply of gun screws. It took a couple of days of filing and sanding to fit the frames together, although I did lose one day trying to get the grip frame hammer pivot screw out (long screw for short). Sometime in the past it had been installed on the wrong side. I swapped over most of the pins and screws as necessary, substituting the ACE Torx head screws for the slotted upper grip frame screws. I'm going to use the original hammer and trigger until I can locate a Single Six Bisley hammer. All done. Now time to go shoot it. Pete

Ruger has them from time to time, just have to call and ask. They will need serial number of Single-Six Bisley to verify correct model.

The transition to the frame is nicely done.

Found a Power Custom Bisley hammer/Vaquero trigger kit. Just finished installing it. Although the original Single Six hammer worked and looked okay, I think the Bisley hammer just looks better. The Bisley hammer is just a little lower and a little longer making it easier to reach. The 18 # hammer spring and a slightly tweaked factory trigger spring gives a real nice creep free 3# trigger pull.

Got a lot of great tips on the forum so it made it fairly easy to come up with a plan for the transition.

I think your transition and conversion turned out really nice. I like an enthusiast that like’s to make it his own. Here is a project that is tuned up, re-griped, BM #5 basepin and a Magnum cylinder fitted. I have the 10/22 Stainless barrel, need to decide on 10.5” or 12”. What to do … 🙄

If it will be a dedicated hunting gun they get unwieldy the longer they are, and more awkward to carry.
