I don't know how to post photos so don't ask. A while back I sent him a couple of cylinders to use as patterns. No gun just the cylinders. We had talked about it before I sent cylinders and he said it was no problem. As a kid I grew up around my older cousins country welding and machine shop. He worked on farm, logging, what ever equipment came through the door. Over the years I learned how to weld, run lathes, mills etc. I have built guns using barrel blanks etc. Learned to make 1/2 or spoon reamers and built wildcats. Draw the line on some things and after several heart attacks and bad reactions to some meds have been unable to do much. I have a understanding of what it takes to do the things he does. He may be one of the "Good Old Boys" but he is head and shoulders above a master machinist. The 32 cylinders, a 32/20 and 327 were perfect in fit, finish and accuracy. Today I got my 2 cylinders, a 25/20 and 256 mag. Both made using a Ruger Blackhawk 45 colt cylinder for a pattern. They are as perfect as possible to make them. To build twin cylinders for a gun that is several hundred miles from you and fit this tight and perfect is beyond amazing. He is worth what he charges, if I was 50 years younger he would have a to build list with no bottom. The old redneck Frank

Hoping to see some large caliber Old Army cylinders one day Because of you I now own a SS OA…..it will be a 500. And I’ll have a conversion cylinder And I’ll probably have to get a custom mold. That gun cost me money.

Would an Old Army in .50 AE or even .50 GI be possible?

I bought a converted Old Army a while back. It was a .50 cal. But it was a black powder 50, and had other custom features. It came to me cheap, and I never bothered to fire it. But after posting a few feelers,, it sold quickly!
Well, as to cylinders,,, if I need any,, I know where to look now! If they are of the same quality as all of his stuff I've already gotten or seen, TOP NOTCH!!!!!!!!!

The 32/20&327 cylinders went in a 321GNR revolver Gary Reeder built. The 321GNR is a 357 case necked down to .32 caliber. Gary built a 25 caliber revolver for me with 3 cylinders. 250GNR, 25/20 and 256 Winchester. Huey is a great friend and enabler that got me hooked on the 25/20. He and Reeder came up with the 250 GNR, a 32 H&R necked to 25. I did a 32S&W long necked to 22 as a kid so I was interested in the 250 GNR when he told me about it. Great round. Years ago I talked to John Gallagher about building some different things on Ruger Blackhawks. John's shop is not far from where I live. Bought several guns from him over the years. After he got sick we were talking one day and he told me he had several barrels put back that were threaded for Blackhawk frames. Ask me if I was interested in them and I bought them all. One was a 25 caliber 8" long. I have a 45 he did a free spin and action job on with the barrel out of it. After he got sick we just let the project come and he was finishing up jobs he had promised. John was a good friend, I miss him but know we will meet again in Heaven. The 8" 25 barrel is in the 45 frame. I fit Ronnie Wells cylinders to it and it will be my last Gallagher gun with Ronnie's cylinders. So the barrel and frame are a special reminder of a special friend

I haven’t measured but unless there is some problem with the hammer dimensions being different to make a conversion cylinder…….cant see why not Those would go nicely wouldn’t they.

Ronnie,
Please make Old Army conversion cylinders for a 5 shot 50 cal cap and ball.
Clements retired, so I never got one. John Linebaugh was going to build all three for me. One for himself, one for my dad, and one for me. John passed before they got started.
I have 3 donor guns that are awaiting the hammers and triggers you have been working on for my Bisley conversions of them.
If you want to make the black powder cylinders for them, I’ve got the money in my pocket. It would let me fulfill my dream of Dad and I having a matching set. That third one I’d still make in John’s honor.
I have a conversion cylinder for I think 45 colt, but maybe 45 auto that came with one of my old army revolvers.
If you want me to ship it to you to model for a cartridge conversion cylinder, I’d be happy to drop it in the mail.
Let me know
