It looks much better with the proper grip frame ! I can’t wait to see the finished product.

Call me crazy, but that gun doesn’t look at all “shot out” (picks of the cylinder look like it hasn’t been shot much, and the tight chamber bore specs make me wonder if the cylinder is a replacement part made within the last 10 years), not that one needs any excuse to do what one wants with one’s own property. Tightening things up will be nice, and it looks like you’re going to end up with a super nice piece! Keep the pics coming! singleaction I was being facetious about the condition of the gun, its basically new. I have never understood why someone would have a nice gun and not shoot it! The other Blackhawk I have was made in 1999 and only had only been shot with the 45 ACP cylinder, 45 colt had no marks on it at all, and the 45ACP was not used much either. Now don't get me wrong I really enjoy buying such guns, I just don't understand it. Ok, don’t call me crazy, just call me an idiot! 😜😂

Looking good Wonder why the smith doesn’t like doing a BP chamfer? He recently lost vision in one eye, and fine detail work is difficult for him now. He is a perfectionist and I knew he would go slow and make it nice. He is a good friend and his work is spot on, I can't afford a big name smith to do a custom in price or timeline, so I appreciate his ability and that he knows what he is doing. Everything he has done has been really good, his personal Blackhawks are extremely nice. He made his own #5 grip frame that is a work of art, and it feels like its part of your hand.

Update I asked for a not so blocky DX style front sight, I think its well done. Barrel is going out next to be marked .45 Colt, then bluing and should be done.

Azspirit are you in AZ? If yes maybe you could spread the word on your gunsmith? I'm always on the lookout for local gunsmith talent.
