I don't know what I'm looking at and have not ever seen this before. This is a 29 Hunter that I'd like to sell but want to understand what I've got. Anybody know what these mean? Sorry for the fuzzy pic but these have been seen before.

The Akah symbol I have on my Steyr rifle, makes me wonder if they are Euro proof marks???

Cranker it does and it don't. The import mark thing is cool and useful, but as each of these other fellas that posted the query, "what's the STORY?!"

Well ...berry, I think the story is that it was imported. Where did you get it from?

I've seen the crown globe thing on a few military Austrian guns before.

Owned a like marked mode 29 a while back. Didn't look into the history of the gun but seemed pretty simple to me. With Redstone Arsenal here were have a large number of active and retired service member residents. My old head jut told me that a GI had purchased the gun overseas and brought it home.

I bought it off of gunbroker probably 10 years ago and have never shot it, so it needs to go.

AKAH is Albrecht Kind, German retailer. www.akah.eu/The Mark that looks like a flaming bomb around an "L" is a Belgian proof for an imported firearm. So, recon this was imported into Belgium and sold through AKAH in 1991. "J" = 1991. Inspected by Jawze Daniel.
