I'm checking all the usual sites daily, but thought I'd throw it out here as well. If you have a lead on one, please send it my way.
Looking for an FA 83 in .41 magnum. Nothing less than 7.5" barrel. Field grade/Premier grade doesn't matter. Removable firing pin bushing doesn't matter. I just want something that hasn't been shot out and in need of a new barrel.

I’ve been thru the same thing a few years ago. A few come thru, but by the time you purchase at a high price, get you personal desired changes, you would end up spending more than ordering what you want, and take just as long. A few years back, someone commented about the price of Freedom Arms guns, and how they cost as much as 3 stock Rugers. That was a whole other post, but I have Rugers and S&W’s in 41, and did sell 3 Rugers and ordered EXACTLY the 10” FA83 I wanted with crown, action and trigger job, and emerald grip panels, and sight delete. This gun only wears a Leupold dual dovetail mount with 2.5x8 Leupold scope. To me, the perfect primary hunting weapon. I believe it is worth More than 3 stock Rugers. Long answer, but Randy just order the one you want! As I’ve been told many times, in 6 months you won’t miss the $$, but you will always miss NOT having the gun. It’s only money! If you don’t spend it, your kids will buy stupid sh!+ with it, when your gone.

It's less about the money and more about the wait time. So before I commit to an almost 2-year wait, I thought I'd put some feelers out and see if I'm lucky today.

There has been 2 7.5" and one 10" on GunBroker in the last 90 days...one of the 7.5s was an octagon with a dot sight...also look on GunsInternational.com and GunsAmrica...
Because of the now two year wait prices are up a little. Another way to go is find a short barrel for the right price and have it rebarreled...

I hope you find what you want Randy, you don’t deserve to go through life without her.

Randy, I was in the same boat a few years ago. I finally ordered exactly what I wanted and glad I did. The 10 inch Model 83 in .41 Mag. is a most excellent hunting revolver. Extremely underrated in my opinion. Best of luck in your endeavor.

Extremely underrated in my opinion. Best of luck in your endeavor. ***** Around 1986 John Taffin and this shooter bent the arm of Wayne Baker to offer the Model 83 10” for IHMSA silhouette. John pushed for a silhouette version in .454 Casull, while I pushed for a Model 83 in .44 Magnum. Once Wayne Baker and Freedom Arms relented to make Dick Casull’s revolver in .44 Magnum, the door opened to .357 Mag, and .41 Mag, a sweep of podium revolvers from Freedom Arms. David Bradshaw
