Spent the last 35 years with TC popguns.... Little bullets and fine looking Bullberry wood..... Just flipped over to the dark side with a 375 JDJ G2 Contender and a 378 GNR Encore. Thinking that I'll need all the cushion I can get... What is the general concensus? Pachmayr Decelerator Grip and Forearm?

FWIW The boys on Reeder's forum came forward with the information that there is a MAGNUM version of the Pachmayr Encore forearm that the Reeder barrels require!

For the Contender, the Decelerator definitely offers the best recoil pain reduction. However, I'm not sure if a version is offered for the G-2. All my Contenders are pre G-2. For the Encore in heavy calibers ( not just Reeder's ) , you definitely want the Magnum forend, which weighs less than the standard forend, and will not strip screws off as easily. In fact, I think that only the Magnum forend is made these days, although there are probably a lot of the original standard versions out at retail outlets. This is not a real big problem; you can return the standard forend to Pachmayr ( actually to their parent company ), and they will replace it with the Magnum version at no cost, but of course you're out the cost of the postage to return it to them.

Midsouth is sending me a decelerator grip and magnum forearm for the Encore.. Reeder speaks highly of the factory rubber Encore grip.. I've got one of those in my Encore stuff so we should be ready for some experimentation soon...

Pachmayr has a better fit for my hand. I always feel like I am just barely reaching for the trigger on the factory grip, The Pachmayr is the peerfect trigger reach for me. My 7mm-08 wears the forearm too.
