That collet crimp was a very heavy one from my setting the die too tight. I usually am much lighter with it, but that one really showed the difference.

FOR STAIGHT WALLED PISTOL CASES THE REGULAR (NON-COLLETT) FCD ALSO HAS A CARBIDE INSERT THAT "resizes" THE CASE AS IT IS ON ITS WAY UP TO A CONVENTIONAL ROLL CRIMP. THE COLLETT FCD DOES NOT "resize" THE CASE. TO ME THE ADVANTAGE OF THE COLLETT FCD IS WITH TAPERED/NECKED DOWN CASES WHERE CONVENTIONAL CRIMPING OFTEN BUCKLES THE CASE IN THE NECK/CRIMP AREA. FOR REVOLVERS IN 22 HORNET, 22 K-CHUK, 22 K HORNET, 22 JET, 22 SUPER JET, 218 BEE, 25-20, 32-20, 38-40 AND 44-40 THE COLLETT FCD MAY BE A CURE FOR FITMENT ISSUES. IF LEE DOES NOT CATALOG A COLLETT FCD FOR WHAT YOU WANT THEY WILL CUSTOM MAKE ONE FOR YOU, JUST CONTACT THEM.
I HAVE SOME COLLETT FCD's FOR THE ABOVE LIST, NEED TO GO CHECK WHAT I HAVE.

I've got the collet dies in 357, 44, and 45C. Need to get custom dies made for the 375JDJ and 500L eventually. I think they offer one in 475/480 as a standard offering, but my Hornady crimp die has never given me problems with the Linebaugh cartridges.
