Do they hold up to recoil forces?? I’ve got a vintage build to work on and want to keep everything period correct. If they don’t hold up ill go with Redfield

...you can bet they do, in my .44magnum(s) for sure_ after the first blue steel combo, I bought another inox, just in case_ I love them ...and no, they don't mar the upper frame _

I only have one set. It holds a 2x leupold onto a stock ruger 45 colt bisley. It was set up this way when I purchased it. I have shot it a good bit with some heavier loads and it has never moved. That’s all I know.

Note: it's probably superfluous to mention it here, but, when disassembled, the two side surfaces look the same, but even if imperceptibly they are not. it's easy to confuse them, but inverting them means preventing the cylinder from leaving or re-entering the frame, and if one force it do damage_ ...here and above I'm referring to Buheler S&W revolver mount only, o.c._

Buehler mounts & rings represent the epitome of elegance. Precisely aligned & machined, expertly polished & blued. The secret to securing the scope under recoil is to remove enough shims from the top of the ring(s) to clamp the scope tube. I used Buehler on some wonderful rifles, but haven’t tried Buehlers on handguns. David Bradshaw

Redfield dual dovetail would be my pick.
No unsightly windage screws in the back.
Bottom screw rings for a bonus

I have them on that .357 that had been through torment. Someone at some point in time boogered the screws on it. The front cross bolt that holds the front ring broke. I made a new screw for it and cut down torx screws to go back in the top of the rings. The biggest thin to remmeber with Buehler scope mounts is to make sure you get the spacers correct. In the brand new sets years ago the spacers were laminated so you could peel off layers to achieve the correct thickness. I have bought sets of them that were missing the spacers. You can make them from aluminum then file fit them. It is a gorgeous and strong mounting system.
