I'd say you've just been distracted. They've technically been gone for quite a while.

Have I been asleep while encore muzzleloader have gone out of sight? TC break-opens in general inflated during the pandemic - probably more than the average firearm.

Right now, to buy a used Contender action (or a new SSK-50) a new barrel from SSK or MGM and a PLASTIC stock set, it'll set you back a grand.
I got the ones I have LATE in the game, but at least JUST before prices went absolutely NUTS.
I have watched the Contender since they came out in 67. I remember new barrels being $100 at Midsouth in the 90s. Put it off and put it off and eventually decided this was the action-type which I needed to carry me through once I retire and started putting a few together in 2017. Today, you can't even touch a new barrel for what I paid in 2017 for a WHOLE, like-new, stainless Contender Carbine in 223.
The new SSK-50 is an option, but, so far, no reincarnation of the Encore.

I havnt used it in years. Its one of the older style ones that you use a wrench to pull the plug on. Im sure we can figure something out if your still looking
