My favorites are the ones that ask for advice and then Want to argue about the advice given. Trapr Especially when they have never been successful, yet question your methods and ability, and matter of factly attempt to correct you.

My favorites are the ones that ask for advice and then Want to argue about the advice given. Trapr THAT is IMMENSELY annoying!!!! That and laziness. "I don't need a loading manual." Well, if you had one and READ it, you wouldn't be here asking the same question 200 before you have asked. But, ya know, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night....................

I don't know alot, but what I do know is by listening, then trying it myself if the information is inside a reasonable safety zone.
If I am trying something in an unknown safety parameter, I will take precautions. I've blown guns up on purpose so I will not do it by accident with it in my hands.
In fact, the only guns I load "above book" now are the 32H&R in a single six and the 500L in a bfr. Both have a good safety margin built in versus the original guns the cartridges were chambered in. As for the 45C, there's plenty of safe Ruger only pressure tested data out there.

My favorites are the ones that ask for advice and then Want to argue about the advice given. Trapr These people drive me nuts. I don't engage much anymore. They don't want you to tell them something, they want you to validate their crazy ideas. Why should I try to tell them anything when they already know everything.

It is fascinating how people with no equipment are better at reading pressure signs than giant companies with labs and pressure testing equipment.

It is fascinating how people with no equipment are better at reading pressure signs than giant companies with labs and pressure testing equipment. I've had some that the brass looked fine and the primers were just starting to really flatten. When I had them tested, they were about 150% of max pressure by the old guidelines. Double the new standards. Straight wall cases act different than bottle necks.

At a dinner party one couple sat quietly, were pleasant, but didn't say very much. Afterwards, on the way home, the wife said to the husband, "You know a lot more about some of those subjects than others did, but you didn't say much. What gives?" The husband answered, "I never learned anything by talking."

....and time brings maturity. My wife would argue that.

....and time brings maturity. My wife would argue that. My ex did too, note the operative word... ex. Though my son who is going on 30 still calls me "a 10 year old with the power of a checkbook" :-)

Earlier I drifted through some of the other forums reading some of the posts about hunting deer with the 357 magnum in a carbine, since I am considering getting a new Marlin.
I'm really glad the 50+ whitetail I have killed with the first magnum were all with a handgun. Apparently the bullet will bounce off beyond 50yds if you shoot it from a carbine.

the following words are taken from memes, but summarize some of the concepts above:
1) most people do not listen with the intent of understand; they listen with the intent to reply_ 2) never measure my intelligence on your ability to understand me_ 3) I'm only responsible for what I say, not for what you understand_
neglecting this out of politeness or etiquette generates the happiness of the troll, until it's banned and reappears elsewhere with another name

My favorites are the ones who's experience involves "I shot A deer before.", so now they're an expert. Of course there's also the magnum experts that thank a 357 is too small for anything except chipmunks. Thinking about it, I can't recall seeing many targets posted on any other sites either. Or pics of actual cast bullets, even on cast bullet forums. This forum has spoiled me into spending very little time on the others. Lots of other sites have targets, though the claimed distance may be suspect like any target posted though they seem to be smart enough to keep them from getting powder burns :-) For cast bullet porn, see the castboolits site at castboolits.gunloads.com/forum.php Some look edible :-)

James, we all learn from different forums. I just recently learned a 454 Casull is not enough for a bison. That info will kept me from making a mistake when I decide to hunt bison.
Oh, and I also learned that I owe it to the bison to buy a hunting rifle to use - not a handgun.
Almost forgot…I’m currently learning about “brush bullets”.

Glad to know that about the bison. Guess they are just tougher than cape buffalo, hippo, and elephant.

Ross wrote an article once about “a great elephant rifle”. 375 Winchester Same ballistics as a 375 JDJ……… Ross liked such articles.
