I picked up a used one last year. So far I've installed replacement springs from TK Custom, a fiber front sight from Dawson and Pachmayr Compac grips. I still need to find an IWB holster for it.

Stan..., that huge “Smith & Wesson” rollmark on the wide flat----appears it’s a rollmark, not an etching----gives me the heebee-jeebees. Any sign of it in the grooves? David Bradshaw

Looks like etching to me. Very distinct and clean. Barrel is dirty. Grooves look very shallow. Haven't shot it yet. I'll get a better look when I clean it.

Have two of the 60-10, which is the same gun without the IL...one of the best backpacking/fishing/hiking guns I've ever carried...
Wish S&W would smarten up and bring them out in .327...they had a 631 3" with ported barrel but they are now $1700+- when they come up for sale...
For loads I use .38-44s vs. .38 Special or .357s... 158s at 1100 in a .38 Special case. Lost River Ammo, Underwood and Buffalo Bore all list them as their .38 Special +P...but they are running 27.5k psi... Available in solids or HPs..

Funny someone should mention that, as I bought a brand new 624 in 86 or 87 (for $275) and you could almost READ the barrel markings on the INSIDE of the barrel. Smith was very accommodating in correcting that and rather quickly.
I also had a NM stainless Bearcat which was the same way, but not quite as bad, but it shot so well I wasn't about to relinquish it to Ruger and take any chances. Not that they've ever done me wrong, but the gun almost shot ITSELF well, in spite of ME being the one holding it.
I have a thing for stainless, 3" five-shot 357s. I've never owned a M60, but I sure wouldn't mind it. Maybe some day, but my current revolvers of the same configuration, but different brands are serving quite well. Had a 90s-vintage SP101 in 3" and it is one I do wish I had back.
That is really a neat little revovler. I'm sure I could get along with it very well.
Thanks for taking the time to take and post al those pics - again.

I really got hooked on j frames for awhile. I wound up with a 60 Pro series in 3" and a 60-18 in a 5". Both are fine firearms, but the size and recoil with 357 mag was just a little too much for me.
I assumed that since I have smaller hands, I would find the j frames my jam. But once I got into a model 28 with a larger frame and more weight, my shooting improved dramatically. At the time I was doing a lot of shooting with some cop buddies and they all made fun of me for shooting mostly single action. They pushed me toward double action hard. That model 28 and then the model 27 really got me into double action practice and shooting. The giant bonus was how much better my single action started coming around as well as a result of the double action practice.
I still enjoy the j frames for walking around, but the k frames and even n frames became my target shooters.

Yeah, they're not for two-hundred-round range sessions with full-powered ammo.
The way I use them is mostly with cast at 800 to 1kfps in 158 and 180 grain. I also shot some 148 WCs at under 800 fps. Its fun and those loads are actually useful for the vast majority of what I need one for. BUT, I CAN stoke it for those occasions when I might see a need for more punch. Really hard for me to see any of my own needs not being filled by a 180 WFN at 800 fps though.
They can be more fun than one wants with full-house 357s on a regular basis though.

Ah Stan! For the old days of a couple dozen Freedom Arms guns laid out on a full stair case! You are proof that a guy truly can appreciate guns of many stripes.😄
