When I see stuff like this,, I ask the simple question; "Where does the money come from to give to these other people for free?" SOMEONE has to come up with the money.

From the article "He says Cook County's basic income program has let him provide more for his kids." The framing of this is completely off. He isn't providing diddly, he's living off the largesse of productive citizens and by proximity showing his children that this is acceptable behaviour. It's to the point where we have 2-3 generations of people removed from productive activity and they can't contemplate anything different.

Influx of "free" money contributes to those skyrocketing prices for everything. Basic economics. More money supply - higher prices.

They are just getting us used to communism-lite. Started with the free Covid money paying people whether you were working or not. People love free money, yoh! Until the real communism comes. Then it is too late.
