Favorite cast hunting bullets

I know what I like in a hunting bullet, but wonder what others are using.

Here's my choices:

32H&R= Arsenal 32-98 Keith, MP 312-640 100gr

357 mag and max= MP 359-640, MP 358429, Accurate 360-170J

45 Colt= NEI 315-452 swc, NEI 345-452, MP 452-640

475 Linebaugh= Arsenal 476-415swc

500 Linebaugh= Accurate 51-355H, MP 512-525, LBT 410 wfn

I've not taken game with cast yet. Not because I haven't tried, just didn't have a chance to connect yet when hunting. With my 44 Magnum chambered 92 the Ranch Dog 432-265-RF is my top choice.

I need to get up your way when it warms up. You can try the 500L with the MP 512-525, the big 640 bullet.

That is a top choice! It'll get the job done

I know what I Ike but can’t speak cast mold types and such. Most are LFN style with a large HP, one is a SWC style with a HP. 41’s, 43’s, 45’s, and 51’s. I’ve got some .50’s coming to try later this year.

Because I've had them so long I've used the #358429, the Saeco #411 230 gr Keith 41 bullet, the 429421 & the 452424 the most & taken the most animals with those style bullets. In recent years, maybe the last 10-12 years I've transitioned over to a lot more MP moulds in HP design. At first I was reluctant to use them on anything bigger than deer but after powder coating came along & I gained more experience with different alloys, velocities & bigger animals I put more trust in HP's for taking big game, including game bigger than deer. I'm continually amazed at how effective they are & how well they penetrate. And the testing continues. Are they needed, I can't say for sure, most all of mine have gave complete penetration even on large African plains game, elk & my bull moose, I have recovered a couple, but under the hide on the offside, that's impressive in my book. And you can vary the size of the HP, also impressive. You should always use what you believe in, not what someone else tells you to believe in. If it's just deer, a good 357 load is all you'll ever need... I think!

I've really taken to the MP version of the 358429HP with the small hp pin, cast 12bhn,powder coated, running 1325fps for deer.

The 359-640, same alloy,pc and powder charge does 1335 with the small hp pin and 1345 with the large. Both are impressive so far on coyotes and the hog I shot with it.

For my solids it's either the Accurate 360-170J version of the Keith bullet or the MP 360-180 Carbine bullet. Haven't gotten into a deer with the 180hp's yet, but the large hp at 1200fps hammers coyotes. At 1690 from the 353 or the Maxi, it's pretty gory. Those velocities need 16bhn for deer/pigs.

It always amazes me what people think and do. Those MP bullets in hollow point form were designed to act as Nosler partition rifle bullets act. Treat them as such and you will see performance past what you believe can happen.
