Does anyone on here or know of a source where I can find the following? I’m not quite ready to jump off into casting myself yet, so I’m happy to pay others for now.
Gun - 6” BFR in .500 JRH Desired weight - 400ish grains (I’m flexible here) Desired hardness- no clue, but hopefully the next two points will answer this Intended velocity- 1200ish fps Intended game - primarily deer and hogs up to 200 lbs.
As a side note…I have worked up a load using a 440 WFNGC with 2400. It leaves the barrel a touch under 1200 fps, is a joy to shoot, and plenty accurate. I’m just essentially wanting to duplicate it with a HP version.
Thanks!

I see Matt's Bullets has really gathered up a bunch of 50 cal molds ! 335gr to 700gr ! But no HP's. He has some .512" too.

I make these 2 HP .502 bullets from MP Molds. I'm not sure if you have load length restrictions since I've never loaded the .500 JRH. I'm not sure of weights. I believe there in the heavy 380-400 plus range.

Another option Randy, would be find a caster willing to do the work, but you purchase a suitable mold and they use it.

That bottom pile of bullets is what I want to try. May I ask what mold that is?

Man that big hollow point bullet is just screaming SLAP on a deer or pig. Would like to try that one.

I have cast, powder coated, gas checked those (Mp) bullets in solids, big HP’s and cup points ( little HP’s) 2400 and HS-6 loads for full speed and medium. Either speed with any of the bullets would absolutely blast thru anything walking around Texas. It’ll knock a longhorn on its butt.

Michael when you say full speed, what speed are you referring to?? and are you guesstimating or have you actually chrono’d??

I do have a chronograph set up on my shortest range, where I do bullet trap testing. I have to do a little bit of accuracy testing in the FA, then I’ll get the speeds of the most accurate load using 2400 and HS-6 for medium accurate loads.

I don't have any longhorns to put on their butts, But it is that time of year again when those big Angus sometimes have to just show everything around that they are boss. They will ram another bull and break their legs. I would like to try some of those Hp and cup point bullets if you see fit and have a few left after Randy's order. I have used 4227 with some 400 gr WFNGC PCed from TII Armory I have tried HS6 with some 440gr cast performance but Like the H110 better. Tex

I took a batch of pics showing chronograph speeds, bullet trap set up, and after pics of the bullets, and their retained weights. At the time, last year I started with one of my favorite accuracy loads in 475Linebaugh, with a 400 grain bullet. Here’s a penta point VS: solid flat point, round nose. The solid penetrated ( as I remember) a foot more, but the penta was more destructive. Only tiny shards of lead were found afterwards, but the bullet was mushroomed and close to 60-65%, where the solid could be reloaded. (About 98%)
