Henry 22. Lever Actions are Awsome!

Awhile back I purchsed a Henry 22. Just their Basic Lever Action. My Marlin 60 is getting a bit long in the tooth(Now and Again, some Keyholing) and I always wanted a Rimfire Understudy to my Model 94.

I final got out to shoot it this weekend..I am truly happy with my purchase.

Being close to dusk I put a bright red plastic cup about 25 yards away loaded up and had at it..Right out of the box I had no problem hitting that cup with each shot..A couple of times much to the delight of my boys and my Wife I hit the cup a second time when it popped up in the air. I am going to be honest and humble and go with luck versus skill on those..

The action was smooth,no jams..A couple of misfires, but they were when my youngest was shooting. I do not think he closed the lever fully. Niether myself, my oldest, and finally after 15 years of marriage..MY Wife! had no problems..My Wife finally broke down and went with us..She later posted on her Facebook.."I liked the Henry.." She tried my Govt. Model but did not like the "Noise" or "Sparks"..She wants to shoot the Henry again though..and for that I am happy!

As for me I felt like the kid from "Christmas Story" when I loaded her up the first time..I even said "Ok Black Bart, Now you get Yours" before I started shooting..

My Henry has a long way to go before I will say.."Better than my Model 60", hey I have had and shot that gun hard for over 25 years..but It's off to a good start..

I cannot wait to aquire a Yellowboy in 22 Magnum..

I also have something good to report about thier Customer Service Dept..I heard that Henry had an aftermarket Metal Sight and Barrel band. I sent an Email to inquire about the cost to upgrade the rifle..A day later I recieved on back from the owner of Henry asking for my address so he could send one out at No Charge as a "Thank You" for purchasing a Henry during these economic times..

Hope no one thinks this is a blatant advertisement..Just excited about shooting again..and really excited about getting what I paid for and more for a change!

The Impertado family has been in the business since about 1911. In that year that bought the John Jovino gun shop in NYC. Everyone talks about John Jovino custom revolvers (mainly their short barrel N Frames). They should really be called Impertado's as Jovino was long gone in all but name only.

Great little guns. My dad bought a plain blued .22 last year for $250 NIB. Shoots straight and is very well fit.

I watch a lot of RTV (Retro Television Network) and Henry advertises on their channel. Kinda neat to watch television and see gun ads.

Have a friend that bought a .22 right when they came out. his hammer snapped in half. Henry did take care of it. Have a co-camp member with several Henry's, and loves them all. Am kinda interested in the .44, unless a 45-70 Marlin gets to me first. steve b

I bought a used "Henry US Survival gun" at a gun show. I wrote Henry to buy replacement parts & they said send the gun back & they would fix it free. They didn't fix it; they replaced it....free!

So I bought a Golden Boy & a standard .22 lever gun, and a friend did too. They are perfect!

I have a Iver Johnson .22 lever gun, made by Erma in West Germany. Fantastic gun and very accurate, but had the ugliest set of varnished hardwood stocks you've ever seen.

When the Henry 22 rifles came along I noticed how similar they are. I took a chance and bought a set of Walnut stocks for a Henry 22 and they fit perfectly! I later learned that the Henry 22 is an exact duplicate of my old Iver Johnson/Erma rifle.

I've since bought a Henry youth model that is waiting for my grandson to get old enough to shoot it. And I recently picked up a Golden Boy in 22 LR, what a gorgeous gun!

Beg, borrow, or buy and extra firing pin. I have replace a few and Henry usually sends one no questions asked. They are easy to replace and seem to be the only trouble I have seen with them. Several people buy them around here and it is rare to see one on the used rack.

I just picked up a 22 mag base model very used and I like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
