This has been discussed in other threads, but not sure if it’s had its own thread. There are other easy ways to depress the loading gate spring, but this tool is awesome and frees up your hands and other tools when dinking with New Model guns. I love mine, and $20 seems like a bargain. rwgripframes-com.3dcartstores.com/TOOLS_c_26.html

This is a very useful tool for anyone who disassembles Ruger singleactions. I hope Ronnie makes one for the BFR soon.

I’ve never taken my Rugers apart and can’t see how this gizmo works. Are any tutorials available ?

I'm looking forward to getting one, anything to reduce the scratches (and cussing) on the frame of my Rugers.

I still put a piece of tape over the serial number side of my cylinder frame when I use the excellent 3rd hand tool. I have a bunch of thumbs and the surface of the aluminum can scratch the finish.
I would love a brass 3rd hand.

It will leave some of itself on the blue if pressed hard but oiling and a soft rag and away it goes. Brass will do the same. it will color it a bit but wipes right off.

If you've used one of "Ronnie's Third Hands" you know it's an indispensable tool, and I think I may have gotten Ronnie a few more customers. I went out to the Game & Fish Public Range last weekend to help a retired PD buddy (who now works there) swap out his Blackhawk hammer, trigger, and grip frame. He was converting his Blackhawk to a Bisley version. I also took my stones and Powers jigs, just to do a proper job on the gun. We had a whole crowd in the range house watching me do my "magic tricks?" I also had to keep a close eye on the knuckleheads who wanted to "look at that thingy". I made sure I definitely got it back each time and I gave'em all Ronnies web site so they could get themselves one of their own.
SIDE NOTE: I also made the serious mistake of letting a couple of his "Friends" shoot a cylinder full in my "Bisley/Wells KBird" when we went up on the line to test fire the progress on the hammer/trigger work. I would also like to credit Ronnie Wells and David Bradshaw, not just myself, for the problem. It's now only Wednesday and I'm having to dodge at least 4 or 5 guys who want me to do the same on their guns. I KNOW I DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR THIS.
