So single six front sight screws were not in stock when I looked for them. I believe it is 6-40, would anybody have one convenient they could give me the OAL length of, that's including the head, not just the threaded portion.

Ace hardware is supposed to be stocking Gunsmithing screws. I don't have a new single six to measure, sorry.

Ace hardware is supposed to be stocking Gunsmithing screws. I've heard this many times over the years, and for all the many Ace Hdw's I've had occasion to visit, I have yet to find a one who stocked "Gunsmith Screws". When I've asked, they've all looked at me like I'm weird. But then, maybe so. |

If I get time tonight,, I'll see if I can dig one out & measure it.
Ace carries a lot of small screws. But if you ask for Gunsmithing screws,, they do not know what you are talking about. Just ask for the section on really small machine screws. Then it's up to you to find & buy what you need.

I measure the OAL of one, and it's .293.

Many Ace stores carry Hillman hardware screws, nuts bolts etc. if they have a decent selection there are usually two of three small multi bin boxes labeled gunsmithing screws. There are three stores within 15 miles that all have decent Hillman product displays that carry them. Just look on line and find the closest Hill man carrier and call them if better yet just go look since bang store clerks these days are about as useful as tits in a boar hog.

Ace is my go to store for hardware. The stores that rhyme with "moan depot" and "clothes" are largely a waste of my time for hardware.
