The darn things are to cool. I looked at a bunch of stuff. Decided for the price and quality it is an excellent buy at 709.00. Waiting to hear when the background check clears, should be today. Looking at holsters now. With only the thumb safety, picking a holster is extra important. It must cover the trigger guard and have a thumb break. What are you guys using to carry the Browning Hi power and or clones. ?

Barranti leather has a few cool options for that gun assuming you like classic leather.

Fowler, I am well acquainted with Mikes work. I have a few of his holsters already. I found a Bianchi belt holster in my drawer marked Colt 45, with a thumb break that works quite well. But Mike just might get an order anyway. I have a synthetic Shoulder holster that might do for awhile, but Summer is not far off, so belt or maybe inside the pants makes a ton of sense. ...tj

You’ll like it, mines been super reliable over a few thousand rounds. I have large mits so the trigger reach is a tick short for me but overall a great shooting gun. I carry it in a Barranti IWB and barely notice it

I am extremally impressed with the build quality of this pistol. I field stripped it, with the intention of inspecting and lubing it. But it was very nicely lubed from the factory. My inspection was impressed hell out of me. The matt blue is very even and looks great. And all the parts are fitted at least as well as on the browning versions I owned in years past. It will be interesting to see what SA does with this platform going forward. A compact version, maybe stainless or polished blue one. I don't know if it can be done, but one in .357 sig would be fantastic. I find myself wanting the buy another. SA steel gun. I like The Garrison 1911 really well. ...tj

I have the ronin, it’s very accurate and has never malfunctioned. I have been replacing some of the more critical wear parts that are MIM with Wilson bulletproof parts..probably not necessary but I do carry the gun. I think the garrison would be a good choice.

My late dad had a Springfield SA-35. We always liked the Browning HiPowers, but the triggers were roundly awful over the years. The SA-35 dad bought had an excellent trigger, did not hand-bite, had good looking satin finish, and great grips in figured walnut. Functioned 100% and was equal in accuracy to the best 9mm we'd ever tried (the CZ-75B). The sights were very useful too. What's not to like? I have seen other folks positive about other brand HiPowers (not SA-35s) but usually they get around to saying their guns have poor triggers. That is a deal breaker when you can get into an SA-35 at a reasonable price. I am one who always thinks about improvements when I try a firearm. In the case of the SA-35, I wouldn't even change the grip panels. Hope this helps someone. God Bless, Marc

I was sick this weekend and did not get to shoot my SA-35. I watched a ton a reviews on you tube. Some guys are really weird 1 guy sent his back to SA twice cause it would not shoot whit box Winchester reliably. It shot everything else just great but he had extraction issues with white box Winchester. I think I would just avoid white box Winchester. So long as it fed everything else well. Maybe you guys se it differently...tj

It does seem like a colossal waste of time, money and energy to send the gun back twice (or even once) for such a minor problem. Considering that the white box ammo I have used is generally practice ammo, I don't see the big deal, suitable substitutes are readily available. Perhaps this individual was in possession of unlimited quantities of the Winchester White Box ammo. Barring that, I am in agreement with you TJ, just find something else to shoot. Best yet, the individual should consider reloading to optimize his ammunition to that gun. I have an SA-35, been very pleased with it and it is now the gun I carry the most. It has fed everything I've given it, including; Winchester White Box, various hollow points (Hydra-shocks, XTPs, V-Crown) and several of my own handloads (lead and plated bullets). This is my carry setup for the SA-35 and an extra mag.

Winchester White Box is good training ammo, and that training will include clearing malfunctions.
