Some calibers have a quantity selection of 250, 500 or 1000 pieces. Who would select a quantity of (2) 250 pieces for $260 when they could select (1) of 500 for $211? Or, for that matter (2) 500 pieces for $422 when they could select (1) of 1000 for $382? Is it possible that they have instances where they pre-package in 250,500, and 1K lots and would invalidate items that may not be in stock? Or do they hope some poor sap will inadvertently select two of a lot and screw himself? :-)

2 liter bottle of Mountain Dew is three bucks. 20 ounce bottles are 2.40.

Well, if 500 pieces is all I need or expect to need, it's all I'm gonna buy. If that qty isn't available but a lesser quantity is and I NEED some brass, I'll buy what's available. I tend to buy the largest qty I expect to need, they have in stock, and I can afford.

E-mail Starline and ask.
They're good folks and will give an honest answer.
Right now, they are the ONE supplier of those things we want and need whom I actually trust and have retained some respect for. Their prices have gone up some, but not doubled or quadrupled. They've also made an effort to run brass some others just won't even bother with right now.
I'm pretty cynical myself, but Starline in the last supplier I'd suspect were up to no good.

The reply would be... "Don't you have anything better to do?"

The reply would be... "Don't you have anything better to do?" Um, no. This wasn't so much about Starline, it's about consumers. PS, I guess the :-) following a sentence is meaningless to some.

You need to do a customer service test. Order two 250's and see if they charge you for two 250's or one 500. Then order one 500 and two 250s and see how that is charged. Then as control groups, you should place one separate order for 250 and one separate order for 500. Scientifical and all that way.
