At my favorite LGS 
   I always look in His Ruger case 1st then go to the used rack. 
I have got some screaming good deals out of his used rack. Like my 7.5- inch NM .45 Colt, for 350.00, just last summer. 
There was 1 gun that tempted me mighty hard. A CZ 75 for 450.00. It had a SS frame and a Matt blue slide.  Thats a lot of gun for 450.00.
 Not sure the 2-tone look is to my liking, but it might grow on me.  
 Looking at his Springfield armory case, he had an SA-35 at a decent price. I love the HI-power. (Who Doesn't) Then I went to the CZ case, The CZ 75 Compact has been one of my favorite guns aesthetically for years.
And if I buy this coming Friday, that's where I am leaning.
  The SA-35 is a fine gun, and with its fine single action trigger i bet I would get tight little groups. But there are short comings to the design. 
In my opinion, to safely carry the Hi Power design, you must have a holster that covers the trigger guard and has a thumb break that blocks the hammer from hitting the firing pin.
A holster like that is not hard to come by. 
    The CZ 75 compact has the great feature of double action capability, but you can carry it single action with the safety on if you prefer.
The trigger pull on the CZ is not as good as the SA-35, in single action, but plenty good for the purpose of the gun.
   In the Sa-35s favor is that I have 3 mags for it now.
    Funny thing is, I go to the dentist on Thursday, if I get a bad enough bill I will not be buying anything.
   And I really don't need any of these guns. But a midsize 9mm, with a 12+1 and 2 16 round spares, is a ton of self-defense.
   Hell, I might order a 4 5/8ths Black hawk in 45 Colt. 
   But I have a little spending money, if I only need one crown for my teeth, i can have some fun...tj

I have all the .9mm shell shuckers I need or desire. So if it were me,, I'd hold off until I found another smokin deal on a Ruger SA.

First why isn't the Hi Power safe in a holster with the safety on? The answer is that it IS safe that way. Don't forget that pistol in its early days was carried by many militaries. In fact quite a few of my Nam friends carried that pistol and I never heard any stories of it being unsafe that it hurt someone accidently. Too much emphasis made on safeties on handguns today. Every show on TV or movies that show someone holding the pistol have rigor mortis in their trigger finger...that is trigger finger straight out along the slide. Well I'm going to tell you if I were a cop, swat team member, or soldier about to break into a room my freaking finger is going to be on the trigger!! I wouldn't worry about the Hi Power being unsafe in holster, the safety should be on. My pick of the guns would be the CZ. The CZ 75 is a real classic and far out advanced all pistols when it first appeared. That low center axis of the barrel on the frame was one of it's best features. Jeff Cooper even had his Bren Ten designed off the CZ. I can't see what a CZ's trigger can't be made better the the Hi Power because it doesn't have the funky trigger mechanism the Hi Power does. SA made improvement of the Hi Power. One is that it now can handle the +P ammo where the original would eventaully loosen it up. They somewhat improved the trigger and also increased the magazine capacity. I believe they got rid of the ridicous magazine disconnect. Shaking my head over that usless device.

I did not say the SA-35 was unsafe with the safety on.
I said to carry it safely in my opinion you need a holster that covers the trigger guard and has a thumb break that blocks the hammer from striking the firing pin. When compared to the 1911, or the CZ-75,
witch I would carry without a thumb break I want a little redundancy in my firearms safety. More so If I carry it cocked and locked. The 1911 has the grip safety, and The CZ can be carried double action.
I might well end up with the SA-35.
But before I ordered a holster, I would need to know it had a thumb break and covered the trigger guard.

Get the CZ and a holster from privateer leather. That’s what I carry daily. Comfortable and fits tight to the body.

CZs are like ruger single actions. They are good basic guns out of the box, but a little gunsmithing and a few aftermarket parts can make them so much more. A CZ with a Cajun gun works pro package and Lok grips and Dawson or CZ Custom sights is a top of the line gun. You can also convert any safety ( not a decocker ) CZ to single action only if you wish.

I shot a CZ75 competition for a while. It beat the high power on every point from my hand. Later, the CZ85 was even better for my use. The only reason I stopped using them was when I moved to Major in Factory Pistol and they weren't available in a suitable chambering.

CZ's are an underappreciated handgun to many folks. A true bargain in handguns generally. I love looking for used models that can be picked up cheap! They are addictive..

My late dad had both a recent CZ-75 and a SA-35 Springfield. They were both seriously excellent handguns. I have no idea which I would choose if someone wanted to gift me one. I am not a huge 9mm fan, but both were equally accurate (both great), both had excellent triggers, finishes, and both felt wonderful in the hand. The only thing not great was the factory sights on the CZ were pretty small. He replaced those. I was frankly surprised how slick and light the trigger was on the CZ. I expected "service pistol hard", but it was anything but.

It's been a while since I've seen the CZ 75 Compact, & what it's evolved to... I have an original steel frame / wood gripped 75 Compact, & it's one of my favorite auto's...

I have a CZ Shadow that I used to shoot in multi-gun and USPSA Production. I honestly don't think I've fired it in 10-12 years now... and I'd still be tempted by the two tone CZ-75 for $450

1st pick would be the Cz, but... would be very tempted with the Hi Power Sa 35.
