About a year ago I missed out on a 761 that also had a spare cylinder in a 32-30 and I kicked myself in the butt for it. Well, just recently a 761 came up again and I wasn't about to let it go again. I need some assistance from another bullet to get a .3145 bullet through all the way. I've gotten a strange affinity for these older Taurus recently and it's been an addicting bug trying to find/collect and scratch the itch of them. I'm enjoying the subtle difference from their Smith "brothers" from the same factory of the frame mounted firing pin, adjustable trigger over travel and adjustable trigger spring.

That's a neat gun. How's it shoot?

I’ve been looking for one too and a while back some guy had several new ones for sale and I passed. Go figure.
Glad you got it!

Yeah, I'd buy one in a heartbeat too. Congratulations on adding that one to your battery...

That looks to be basically K framed sized and a model 16 kind of crossover. I don't think Taurus built any more of them than S&W did as they are just as hard to find. They also made my 741 which is J Frame sized. I don't push it hard, but it is a wonderful, handy little pistola. Mostly retired now as its duties fall to my indestructible 4" sp-101 in 327.

I love that gun! They only made the Smith's and the Taurus's on the same line in 1993 from what I was able to shortly do in my research. But the gun is a little tank, at least it feels like one and I can't wait to shoot it. I wouldn't hesitate at trying to find another one, I would also like it in a 4". I don't plan on running it hot at all, I have a Super Single Six for that.. Or just shoot a different larger caliber.
