Leupold has discontinued all handgun scopes….
Burris had zero on display at shot show…
Crimson Trace was the only one on display at shot show.

Well that stinks. Burris has great quality. It is sad they didn't have anything to show off at the biggest event for showing off new products. I hope they dont stop production like Leupold.

Leupold has discontinued all handgun scopes…. Burris had zero on display at shot show… Crimson Trace was the only one on display at shot show. Supply and demand. Id guess handgun hunters are a fraction of 1% of hunters in general. Handgun hunters who choose to scope over a red dot or irons is again a fraction of that fraction. Not worth their time to tool up for.

Everybody wants to be a sniper now. Two foot long scopes that cost more than the rest of the rig, the norm now. Am glad I have 2 Leupold handgun scopes here now. Thanks to BBD and Brant.

Not worth their time to tool up for. I find very little use for a magnified optic on a wheelgun. The dots get me to 200 yards well enough. Unlike handgun scopes the tech keeps advancing in dots….handgun scopes have been stagnant for a long time.

I have a 2x leupold, a 4x leupold, and 2 NIB 3x tasco 30mm world class handgun scopes i would part with. Im just not a scope guy when it comes to handguns.

In recent years Burris has not had their entire line of optics displayed at SHOT, it’s just too extensive. So the fact that none were displayed shouldnt be alarming. Our market is a very tiny niche and displayed product goes to new and mass markets. In the 8-10 years I helped Burris at SHOT, I cannot recall anyone coming up and asking about magnified handgun optics, red dots yes. Trapr

Not long ago they discontinued a scout scope that I had planned to buy and replaced it with a different model which I'm not super excited about. I was wondering if that was the case with the handgun line as well. They had previously discontinued the silver models and now all the handgun models. So I reached out to them and basically got a response stating that the whole line is gone and there is no replacement coming for it.

I read a way back that Leupold stopped repairing some handgun scopes, I guess that was the first shoe drop this is the second.

Leupold no longer supports any scope more than 10 years old. Not rifle or pistol.
I do miss the high gloss blue scopes (pistol and rifle). Not a fan of matt black on a high polish rifle but I guess it is the norm now.

I just got back a silver Leupold 2.5-8X32 EER scope the end of December that I had returned to them for warranty repair work.I bought it used and the elevation knob did nothing so I went online to their website and filled out the info for warranty return and shipped it to them. Took them 6 weeks and they shipped it back prepaid. They said they replaced the erector system and did a complete internal inspection. The scope was made in 2006.

Awesome!! Lets hope my experience was one of those fleeting BeanCounter decisions that got a lot of pushback from the buying public.
