Jefats, a quick question for you. Does this gun feature the standard 2 piece gripframe that would allow a set of one piece grips to be installed?

Wow, Wow, Wow! Oh, I'm freakin' out about this!.... I love .44 special. Oh, I guess Coyote already said that about me.
Honestly, that USFA is a sweet gun. I've had my eye on the Double Eagle, because I like the birds head, but I want one in .44 with a Bisely hammer. I'll guess I'll just have to wait and build one myself.
Why a 3 1/2 inch barrel? because it makes the sweetest little packin' pistol. Its concealable, but its a big bore in a gentleman's caliber. It still has the ejector assembly, which to my design aesthetic is an important part of the look of the business end of the SAA.
I already have a Milt Sparks holster for a 3 1/2 inch SAA. I just need to build the piece to put in it. But I'll never be able to match the fit and finish of the USFA, not to mention their incredible case coloring. You have a fine little revolver right there. Good on ya!

Beautiful color case hardening on the frame and hammer! In addition, the hammer style is very complimentary to the rest of the gun! I especially like the standard grip style in contrast to the bird's head style grips. What kind of one-piece stocks are you going to have installed and who is going to do the work? If you are thinking of walnut or ivory, you may want to consider Paul Persinger in El Paso, Texas. He does a world class job on fitting and installing one-piece grips on USFA revolvers. Happy and safe shooting with this new revolver! J.D. Press Photos courtesy of Alex Hamilton's www.tenring.com website and are Paul Persinger's one-piece, oil finished, fancy American Walnut stocks. The revolver is a USFA Pre War model chambered in .44-40 Winchester.

JD,
I haven't decided on grips except they'll be one piece and some sort of wood, Desert Ironwood or Amboyna maybe.
As for Persinger, I have his ivories on Colts, USFA and TLA's and there is none better IMO. Might be time I got a set of his woods.

Jim:
Wow, you sure have some first-hand experience with Paul Persinger's work, with some of his highest level grip materials! I would really enjoy seeing some photos of the ivory grips, if they are available.
Paul's work with wood is on the same very high level as his ivory grips; I don't think you could miss with wood grips on your revolver. They really compliment the color case hardened components.......and the blued parts too!

Jim:
Absolutely beautiful - In fit, finish and total execution! What a trio of single actions you have too; three of the finest and they are maintained perfectly.
Thank you for posting the photographs and your photo skills are excellent too; almost equal to your taste in single action revolvers and custom grips!!!
