Dixie's had this model exclusively and under the radar a long time. Kind of a strange thing ie that Cimarron doesn't catalog it, cuz it's so cool. For a very long time they were $450 new for the .44 at Dixie. Crazy good deal. I wanted one years ago but 2017 or so we were all getting wind of Uberti's safety action change, so I went ahead and bought one from Dixie. That's this one below. Great gun, was really happy with it. Put old stags on it and had a .44 spl cylinder. I never did get to shoot it. What happened, eyeroll... We have pets, and we had a pet health crisis, and the vet bill was $4k. Not the kind of amount I feel comfortable charging, so I sold a few guns to pay that bill. FT was one of them.
See look at that outstanding cyanide cch.
I was going to buy another one 'someday'. COVID cleared out Dixie's inventory in the first place, but these Uberti FTT frames were all rendered like 1995-2004. These ones they've been selling in recent years are Uberti J39xxx serial frames, which in Uberti mfg chronology is about 2004. I checked in with Dixie in say 2022 and I don't think they could assure that they'd ever have anymore, they thought Uberti was out of frames. So I bought this used one that was about 2012 assembled boing by the proof date. I made some Mammoth grips for it but actually I don't like Mammoth all that much for its brittle fossilized quality, so those went out in my grip trade.
This picture flatters the color of the receiver, I don't think it was that good in daily life for my mid 50's eyes to see it.
This one I have now is a build. Here it was getting Bighorn grips. Also, refinish with great cch, Cimarron's Uberti hammer without the safety block, and a .44 spl cylinder.
Dixie does have more of these now and have settled on a price that probably proper, $675 or so.
