Have been doing some reloading for a newly purchased Kimber Stainless Target Longslide .45 and decided to try some of the .45 Super ammo in a 1974 vintage convertible Blackhawk...
Load was a home cast 452423 Lyman/Keith that weigh 249-250 grains. Was seated deep for the semi so the case neck was just short of the top of the driving band. (they run SLICK in the semis)
Was powered by 8.2 grains of Longshot which runs 1080+- in a 5" Kimber STII in a Starline .45 Super case with a CCI LP Primer.
Zero issues...primers nice and round and easy ejection. Fired 5 rounds and checked the 6th round for bullet pull and didn't look to have moved at all. Was tapered crimped in place with a LEE Carbide Factory Crimp Die.
In talking with one of the techs at Buffalo Bore, he said a lot of their customers run .45 Super in their S&W 625s, including the tech himself...

I did this too. Blackhawk and FA97 using all sorts of brass.
Found Power Pistol best with bullets up to 230 grn. Longshot with heavier bullets. It's a very efficient case...
