I have decided to get more use out of my S&W X8 revolvers and use up a couple of thousand .38 super ammo in them that I have already loaded. The problem is even though my reloads fit comfortably (after taper crimping them again) in my model 327 (checked in an ammo checker AND they function in my automatics) the 627 will not allow more than a half of the super case length to drop in while all .357 magnum ammo does.
S&W will not likely do anything about it so I need the 627 cylinders reamed and chamfered and while I'm at it have the 327 cylinder chamfered.
I need recommendations for gunsmiths who can or will do this, hopefully by just sending the cylinders in?

I'd give TK Customs a call.

I'd give TK Customs a call. Nah, I Emailed them twice without a reply, and today I received a set of three moon clips made by them and the "fingers" needed .020" taken off each one to fit the rear of my 327's cylinder. TWENTY thou? WOW! OK, maybe they were following a spec provided by S&W, if so I guess they want nothing to do with the super because they took a bath on the moon clips. I'll look elsewhere.

I've got moon clips from them for a few of my S&W, including both my x8 357s. I have brass brand specific ones that hold tight with no rattle and generic ones that are floppy with most brass and prefer theirs. Sorry to hear you had trouble with them.
