I saw a 5" blued .45 colt top break at Taylor Firearm's booth at the NRA Show this year. It looked just like the Laramie revolvers that Beretta used to sell but were discontinued last year.
Anybody have any information about these pistols? When they may be available, or caliber, barrel lengths, finishes offered? Taylor's website looks like it hasn't been updated in a couple years...
Thanks,
Patrick

I would call before ordering. I tried to get a 92 from them but they were not able to deliver.

Nice company, run by very nice people, but they have advertised "vaporware" in the past. It would not be a stretch to imagine that they had a sample and nothing else.
I agree with cj3a, call first, then let us know.

I have 2 Taylor's #3 Break-Top 3 1/2-inchers in .44 Russian (although, strangely enough, they are marked .44 Specials). Fit and finish are exceptional and Taylor's is a great company run by friends. Always call before ordering, though...like any of the Italian importers — Taylor's, Cimarron, Legacy Sports — sometimes what gets announced doesn't get delivered in a timely manner (or ever). I like the way they shoot...am finishing up a dual holster rig for them so I can use them in SASS competition. When I got the 2 Russians, Taylor's told me they were the only short-barreled Russians they'd seen in 18 months (which Is why I bought them on the spot)...

Hey Michael. I was the younger blond guy that was yapping your ear off about those very pistols at the NRA show in Charlotte before you starting signing autographs on Saturday. Nice to re-meet you!
I got the scoop from Taylor about their new top breaks:
"The New Model No 3 Frontier is a new item in our line. It is manufactured by Uberti. Currently we offer this model only in .45LC with a 5” or 6.5” barrel. It may be available in different calibers in the future. The cost of this model is $916.00. The standard model will be the blue finish however you can special order it in Charcoal blue, antique, nickel or a white finish. All special orders require a 50% non-refundable deposit and I would estimate at least 6 months before the item would be available in a special finish. I currently do not have the standard blue finish in stock but we could place one on backorder for you if you are interested. I would estimate approximately 6-8 weeks before we receive this model."
So there you have it. I wish they would dare make a .44 Russian "Frontier". I would have that 50% deposit made. Probably never going to happen. I will have to wait and see how they get reviewed later on down the road. Oh well, back to the grind.
Thanks,
Patrick

I wish they'd make a .44-40.
