Well during my trip back to NH one of the LGS stores in NH, the one the guys from the custom shop in Rochester started, and I got two 22 shooters, I wondered if they ever had been cleaned. One a High standard H8 we cleaned in a sonic, it was maybe 1940. Clean up nice in quite good shape. I planned on it as an xmas gift to the oldest, he liked it. The other a Ruger standard cleaned up good, but was missing parts, Ruger sent them to us free but they don't do any work on that age guns, I'm waiting for info on the shooting of these two. A couple years ago while checking there for #1s a guy is looking at a M1 carbine, says no, I noticed all the wood is loose the barrel band had been backed up, don't know why it did not break. It fell apart after I got it for a low price. Two guns My mother-in -law threw into a wall void cause she didn't like guns one a external hammer Colt double 12 which was for sure worth a buck or two. I have bought a few #1s at an LGS in where the inherltor sellers are not being ripped off. I wonder how many have been taken to the cleaners by either police depts or others. Maybe it's just byer be ware in reverse. I always made sure my wife would have some info on value. Have a nice day Don K
