Out of the Hutyra Auction a 2nd gen New Frontier built in 1964. Looking darn good for 60 it was listed as possibly unfired, which I believe, but enough scuffs to not worry about shooting.
Been looking for a 2nd gen short barrel 45 for a long time. They only made 85 of the 4 3/4" and 520 of the 5 1/2" 2nd gen 45s so it was no wonder it took so long.
Happy to have finally found one!

Watch your throat sizes, my uncle has a 4 3/4" 2nd gen NF and the throats are quite large, like .456-.457" dia, fed appropriate bullets it shoots quite well, .452" bullets not so well. That's why we had LBT cut us a 250gr mold years ago. But they are magnificent guns and I am sure you will enjoy it very much...

All my Colts in 45 measure .456 with one exception, a 2018 New Frontier that measures .457. This includes SAAs, New Frontiers and New Service in 45 Colt, 455 Eley and one in 45 ACP, a 1917. I only shoot cast bullets through them and powder coat and size all the bullets for the 45s to .456 through a NOE sizing die.

One of the most accurate revolvers I have is a Smith Model 25 with 8 3/8th inch barrel in 45 Colt. All I shoot is cast. I will venture to say that is will probably out shoot most of your tuned 1911's at 25 yards. With that said the cylinder throats are .456. What I stated above is done with .452 cast bullets. Yes I tried bullets sized .456 and it DID NOT improve accuracy in MY CASE. Actually is shot pretty much same as the .452 bullets. What am I saying? You don't know what a new unknown to you handgun is going to do until you try everything in it. My Smith 25 also shoots jacketed the same.

You guys are lucky with the .456 throats, My Anaconda's measure .458. I have a bunch of remington hollow base 45 colt bullets that should work if that's the case here. Fingers crossed for something a little more snug.
