Well, after a discussion with Starline at SHOT,, (as I promised y'all I'd do,) about .480 Ruger brass, I have some news.
No,, they aren't taking any back orders.
But it's NOT a dead caliber.
They do have plans to run more at some point. They are just trying to catch up on other projects to where they can re-set a line to run that caliber.
All we have to do is "Be Patient."

They have 475 Wildey mag in stock. Wonder if that is considered less dead?

They have 475 Wildey mag in stock. Wonder if that is considered less dead? They already had it. They have had it for a while.

We came up with 42,000 pieces for pre-order and they had a meeting about it and said it wasn't enough to change production schedules. At least they gave us an oppertunity to try to hit a number that would scoot us up in line. They said there were millions of pieces of 9mm,40 and 45 ACP already ordered that they were catching up on.

I get the color coding, but not the rationale behind what gets built behind the colors.

Let me start holding my breath now. I'll believe it when it's marked as "in stock" on their website.

It'll ship right after the .30 mauser, 360 DW, 445 super mag, 45 GAP, 455 Webley, 9 Steyer, 45 Win mag, 7.65 French long etc. long awaited back orders are fulfilled for new production guns that have been rolling off assembly lines in recent months that I haven't heard of? :-)
I'm not holding my breath either.
