I built a 308x1.5 for my VFS rifle and did just as you by cutting down 308 dies. 2 problems arise. Neck turning is MANDATORY which i see you have done, and there is a big discrepancy between 308/358 web diameters and your new smaller diameter chamber base. Using 22-250 brass can overcome some of that because its generally a few thou smaller at the web and more heavily tapered. Very well done. I love when someone steps outside the box to do it their own way!

At first I was stuffing the cases up inside a 358win sizing die to size the bases down some. But then I poured a chamber cast and it looks like the stock base will fit the chamber just fine.

Lars you can also try 2400, 4227, 296, and Lil Gun. I found 1680 to be best in my application.
