Has anyone found a brand and bullet weight in the named calibers that has consistently good accuracy across the board? Just curious what others have found. In the 9MM I like 147 grain ammo. Thank you for your time and trouble for your input. Forgot to add that I am talking about factory ammo.

I also prefer 147 in 9mm. Particularly the 147 grain Zero JHPs I am shooting now.

Federal Hydra Shok 230gr in 45acp has always delivered consistent accuracy and terminal performance for me from all my 45’s

Although they are not 147gr as OP mentioned, I have for years used 124 Gr Speer Gold Dot HPs in my carry 9s, and 124gr Speer Lawman for weekly range "trigger time".
AND in both Glocks and M&P 2.0 9mms, the Speer Lawman range ammo and Speer Gold Dot HPs shoot to the same point of impact. If you didn't look at the mag before loading, the groups on paper would not tell which one was just fired.
Might be worth testing Speer 147s......
Problem is finding and paying for them both these days.

As a LEO I carried 200 grain Federal Hydrashocks and Speer Gold Dots in a Colt Officer's ACP. With the shorter barrel I wanted all the velocity I could get back then. Shooting hogs I got excellent penetration and expansion with the Gold Dot load. (Hogs shot in a pen trap at 10 feet or less. Shoulders and ribs intentionally targeted.) I figured without actually shooting humans, that was about as true a test as I would get. In 9mm, I am mainly carrying a Beretta M9-A4 and a M9-A2. 124 is what we were issued "over there" so I am working my way through a case of 9mm 124 grain Sellier and Bellott soft point ammo. So far, hogs on the run are not impressed with it and I am not very impressed since I recover so few. I had some old Remington 124 Soft Point 9mm ammo and that worked great. Of course it worked so it is gone now. I have not shot more than a box of 147 grain hollow point out of a pistol but use them regularly in my 16 inch rifle and LOVE THEM. Very quiet and hard hitting for such a small case (relatively). Darned near gut a coyote shot stern to stem around the hen house.

I have found that 200 gr XTP’s offer exceptional accuracy and performance. The coyote that I shot last month with them, one round went through an ear and the other entered the rear of the skull and blew the entire bottom jaw off of.

Marlin, 200xtp from what ?? I hit a decent sized pig 150ish with a 200xtp from my 44amp, 1600fps pig was 30 yards and no exit. Tough tracking job but luckily it was short, it only went 75 yards or so. Please disregard, I got my XTP topics mixed up, I was thinking of a different thread,…..sorry Trapr

The most accurate 9mm factory load that I have ever found is the Federal 115 grain "classic" 9BP. Far more accurate than anything else. Truly match grade accuracy...
