Love the deep blue finish! Forgive me if it's a stupid question, but isn't at least part of the reason for a barrel band is for it to support the ejector rod housing from the recoil of the big bores? From the pics it doesn't look like it's touching the ERH.

Sir, lots of fine sixgunsmiths can build you a heavy hitter with no danger of losing the ERH. Stroh, Harton, and Reeder are just a few examples. For me, the barrel band is more about balance. I wish I could put this one in your hand. Then you would see what I mean.

Bigbores, Reeder installs a straight taper heavy barrel. So, maybe so. I also have one of his 5.5 inch guns minus the BB and while it is stout, I like the balance of this one quite a bit.

That is beautiful, The only thing I'd add are flutes to the cylinder, but that's me. Thanks for sharing a beautiful gun. I'll bet it shoots as good as it looks. Frank
