Most of the guys who know me pretty well can tell you I'm fairly stubborn about things. I cant help it. Once I get started on something I'm not likely to just go away. Kind of like a miserable blister..... Anyhow, I have been one of the more adamant of Gary Reeders customers in pestering him to come out with a barrel band revolver. In the past, Reeder felt like he would be encroaching on the business of Bowen and Linebaugh who are both good friends of his. In order to come out with a barrel band type sixgun it had to be of a different design that those currently available. When I got him to lean past the tipping point I immediately closed in for the kill and offered a revolver as a guinea pig for his new project. Gary has delivered in spades. This is clearly the slickest revolver to ever leave his shop. It has his special bluing process, a set back trigger, a fantastic action, REAL ivory stocks, and a very sexy barrel band. Im gonna post a pic but let me tell you right now it does not do this piece justice. Now for the best part. It only took 4 months to get this piece from start to finish and it would have been sooner but he was unhappy with the original barrel (he knows I am a prick for accurate revolvers) and replaced it. The cost on the thing is considerably less than you would expect. All up including ivory stocks I believe it was 1995 USD. Pretty dang good. The balance on this revolver is just perfect. So, here we go, introducing the Gary Reeder Texas Classic.....

I like it. The blueing is so deep it looks like it would ripple if you touched it. Nice.

Im not kidding when I say the picture does not do this piece justice! That bluing is a mile deep.....The stocks dont even look like real ivory in the pic but they are really nice too.

Well "Tired Dog" This is the best one that I have seen in your stable to date. If you were with us next week I would be taking it home with me. You have to sleep sometime.

Robb, the front sight is in a dovetail and Reeder included more than one. It has a white line ramp in it now.
It ain't takin my sixgun, it's gettin out of range with it...

Fermin, you continue to set the standard for making the rest of us poor gun guys suffer, thats an awesome looking gun. I can guarantee you I would take good care of it if you were to ship it to Idaho for testing....or just bring it along when you come, I have a big, nasty cinammon phase black bear with your name on it. Its an huge, ugly bear with no neck, so you two should match up pretty good!

You do not need crocks but you must have a neck.

Necks are overrated Nels. Consider that my chow gets to my gullet sooner than yours!

From some of the chow you and Henry put together I would not mind having a shorter neck. It is absolutly delicious. It looks like that Reeder Gun has my name written all over it. That is a nice one.
