Sorry, I didn't intend to step on your ad. I didn't realize initially that you're selling this brass.

On occasion I've gone to a restaurant and the waiter or waitress advised me that they were out of a dish that I ordered. When I got up to leave they always ask why don't I make another selection. I generally say, I came here for what I ordered, why would I make another selection and reward the management for not having what I wanted?
Back to the brass issue...
I guess if one is really dead set against using 475 head stamp brass in a .480 they have to pay the price.
For me, if I REALLY needed .480 I'd much rather buy 250 pieces of Starline .475's for the same price and chop them over buying .480 head stamped at that inflated price. But as it is I have a sufficient amount of 480 and chopped .475 brass and don't see a compelling need to reward Starline by buying what I do not want and having to cut it down.
Now if or when they do make .480 brass, for that I'll reward them and get a thou.

Free market economy. If someone is desperate enough to buy them, the system worked. I bought 25k .224 75gr speer gold dots one time on a clearance sale. Knew their value was far greater than I gave. During Obama I sold a bunch for 25% over retail and that bullet was absolutely unobtanium. People were lining up to buy them but I was also getting blasted and raked over the coals for “screwing” my fellow shooters. I finally just quit selling them.

There's been several lots of 480 brass selling for as much and more. I've been trying to help my brother cobble together more brass for his 2 480s. I periodically keep an eye out for it. $2/piece vs $.64 for Starline 475. If you have no brass or are running out you'd be trimming brass. To me it's a time and expense consideration. Discounting a jig or other equipment expense to trim brass you'd have your time. If you sat down to trim 100 pieces, how long would it take? 3 minutes each start to finish? At $25/hour for your time (I'm sure there's plenty here making more than that) I'd be willing to bet you are at a wash for cutting down brass. Then would one rather be trimming or shooting. I don't cast because I like reloading and shooting. I don't have time for casting. Just my 2 cents.
Oh....and stop ruining 475 Brass.....😎

I think the 454 will do everything these bigger bores will, it’s just a little more obnoxious doing it. Brass is never a problem either. My 454 load in my first bfr was a 335gr at 1700fps. It was brutal to shoot but nothing survived it. You can step up 100gr in weight and some diameter but lose the velocity. It’s a wash. They tried to find something the 454 couldn’t handle but weren’t successful.

Oh....and stop ruining 475 Brass.....😎 I do wish it were not necessary to cut brass, but that's the beauty of having a firearm that has a sacrificial parent case and it's been done for a L-O-N-G time. Anyway, in reality using a correctly setup HF chop saw a single case takes about a minute on the outside to chop and deburr the case mouth. The saw is a long term reusable tool so that's a wash, and time spent cutting brass means time actually shooting as opposed to showing off a desk paperweight. All in all a win win situation for .480 owners. Right now I see a golden purpose for .475 brass and that is to be a supply of .480 brass, much like you need milk to make other dairy products?

I hope the gentleman gets it and Way more. I hear it all the time, people griping about how much someone gets or asks for components. Did I get ripped off when I bought 5K Fed 210 for $122.00 in 2009. Should I sell them for the same price now?
Are you getting screwed if you buy a house for $175K that was bought 40 yrs earlier for $35K
I've got a receipt somewhere for 500 Starline 45 Colt brass for $50.00 Are they gouging now at almost 3X the price? NO!!!!!
