Just curious, what brand of magazines came with your 1911 A1 45acp? Mine came with Check-Mate mags and they run well, although loading the first round can be a bit aggravating. Experiences?

Yeah same experience with my 9mm Tisas mags.
I swapped them out for Wilson and the headaches went away. I wise friend advised to load the mags fully and set them aside for 6mo and the springs my weaken enough to get them to behave a bit better, they dont like to feed that first round, especially with hollowpoint ammo...

Mine came with Mec-Gar mags. They seems to work okay so far.

I have two Tisas in .45 ACP that came with MecGar Mags. I'll put it this way. Since I swapped them with Ed Browns using the mag trade-in deal they have, I haven't had reliability issues.

My Tisas has been 100% functionally reliable.
What I meant was the 1st round is hard to get into the magazine. I think it has something to do with the design of the follower.
