Not my cup of tea and Spendy, But if you lived in a place where AR,s and such were illegal it might make a decent option. And the version with the grade A wood is crazy expensive.
But I bet it shoot's...

Spendy, But if you lived in a place where AR,s and such were illegal it might make a decent option. I don't know about that. A 44 lever and an AR cover pretty different ground. Spendy for guys that bought levers 10 years ago but that's what they all cost these days. Gonna have to hold judgement till I hold one, but it does look like a rebranded Henry with a long extractor and torx screws. That and O Yeah, I'm already saturated with 44 levers.

It is hard to believe that someone thought another .44 magnum levergun is a great idea and would sell like hot cakes . Maybe I am way off, but I dont see these flying off the shelves

dump tube magazine looks like a 22 Rim Fire style... wonder how that would hold up with brisk 44 mags
plus it only holds 9 rounds... so it's not an "assault" rifle
... and no where do I see a twist rate...

I think it's a great addition to the current levergun choices. It'll be a great base gun for an amazing custom. I bet Smith & Wesson will come out with it in 500 S&W Magnum too. Drop the large lever and the threaded muzzle and accessory rails for mine. www.smith-wesson.com/article/smith-wesson-model-1854

Just watched sootch’s review on YouTube..I greatly dislike what I see. The trigger is floppy, even when the hammer is cocked. It has a cross bolt AND a transfer bar safety. When he showed it next to a Henry, they really do look identical. It looks to have Marlinesque internals however. I think if they would have skipped the .44 mag chambering and went straight for the .460 and .500, they would have jumped into a pool nobody else is swimming in. As of right now, they look like just another kid in floaties.

Ouch, they are a might proud of it. Now as was mentioned earlier, if it were in 460 or 500 at that price.

It has a 1:20 twist for 44 Mag though.

To borrow from the Gershwin brothers "But Not For Me." It's a re-branded Henry and ugly as sin. I went through my lever rifle phase 40 years ago and, still have a couple. Were I buying one today I would be buying the same things I bought back then, original Winchesters, Marlins and Savages. Nothing made about post 1950. And yes, I know the difference in prices from 40 years ago, I'm still looking for a replacement for my 1886 in 40-82 so I peruse the originals frequently.

I too went through a lever gun phase and still have them. As far as the S&W goes the stainless version's MSRP is quite a bit lower than the advertised BIN prices for the Henry all weather. If I were looking at a .44 lever gun I'd have no problem with giving the new 1854 a "shot" :-)
