I was reading in Shooter's Bible that they were coming out with a 41 and 44 magnum. Has anyone else heard this? I bet it would be a good one.

Brian Pearce also has mentioned this in print, and in fact, relates that he did some testing for USFA in those calibers.
A couple of years ago, USFA had announced new magnum models, and displayed the prototypes on their website. They had strange proportions, sorta like somebody had taken a picture of an SAA and printed it on a rubber sheet. Then they stretched the resulting image out to the shape the designers apparently felt would accommodate magnum pressures.
Mebbe it was just the angle of the photos, but the effect was something which reminded me of how the world looked, thru the smeared visual effect of a severe mescal hangover. So did the colors -- yes, colors -- of the guns. BTW, I WAS daid sober, too. ;~`)
Pearce's report, while not mentioning dimensions or styles, read to me as tho USFA he was testing is the standard issue Colt-frame pistol, as made by USFA with the slightly larger cylinder diameter in modern steel. But, that is all merely reporting and not the insider actuality of what is being tested or proposed.
FWIW, unless one needs or wants the Magnum .44 for ursine protection, elk/buffalo/giant feral hogs/etc or just the pleasure of bang, then the .44 Special is readily available in all their styles.
As you said, if USFA does it, it'll be a dandy.

Weird guns IMO. Not a trace of the elegance of the original Colt Shooting Master DA.

The EAA Bounty Hunter looks better.

I guess I am a heretic (er-r-r, somethin'). I'll just take my Ruger single actions. My .44 Lipsey Special is outstanding from most any viewpoint and-d-d, there is not a THING wrong with my SS Bisley .45 Colt/.45 ACP convertible. In fact, when you really think about it, I bought three Rugers last year (all new) a 50th Anniversary .44 Magnum Flattop, the .44 Lipsey Special Flattop, and the SS Convertible for about the same money as ONE of the USFA's .357 Magnum (and the Rugers look BETTER). All three of the Rugers have excellent adjustable sights, too...
Just one man's opinion, of course.
