Stroh with Wells upgrade

Several months ago I was able to grab this old model 44 Special conversion by Jim Stroh. It wears his gorgeous blue, his front sight, Bowen rear sight, shortened head locking base pin by Jim and a XR-3 grip frame with the color removed. I received my first old model bisley spurred hammer from Ronnie Wells a few days ago and I had a really nice factory XR-3 grip frame along with my favorite set of old colored ivories. I finally got around to doing some parts swapping today and to say I am pleased with Ronnie's work would be a massive understatement! The new hammer slipped right in and now looks like every other old model I have in that they all wear Clements bisley spurred hammers. I am a fan of the "special" rounds like 41 and 44 and this turned out so nice it may become my Stroh Quest gun! Here are the before and after pictfures.

Great gun before, but massively improved with the hammer, finished grip frame, and ivories!

I’ve got the same preference for Bisley hammers on everything and Ronnie is about to help spruce up a handful of my customs with them.

I have to admit, it will be tough picking between these two when the time comes.

The flat top is a 44 mag and the thing I really like about it is the steel two piece grip frame and the one piece ivories I had Jim of Nutmeg Sports craft before he passed away. Luckily the time to choose between them is in the future a ways.
