I’ve searched high and low to no avail. What are y’all using for this? Doesn’t appear there is one made for this caliber. Can I make one from a 500 SW?

Possibly I'm not understanding the question. The only case gauge I've ever owned is a dial caliper. In over 50 years of reloading, I never thought I needed anything else.

Ah, maybe you mean like a Wilson Cartridge Case gauge? My bad.

Ok, I'm clueless. Seems your question was maybe a bit lacking in specifics.

Seems ‘case length gauge’ is exactly what it’s called. And I listed the specific caliber too. Not sure what “specifics” are lacking for someone with 50 years experience…

I've never seen one like that, so I suspect it's "manufacturer specific, like for Dillon, or Lee tools, which I admittedly have zero knowledge of. Feel free to school me, please.

Randy I had Lee custom make some for me for odd cartridges that they didn't allready make. It wouldn't be too hard for a machinest to make one from a .500 S&W. Simple matter of cutting the length then drilling it for the pin.

That is a case length gauge for a Lee trimmer. Pretty handy little tools and plenty good for anything short of benchrest. It uses a universal cutter and lock stud. I use them when high volume trimming with a cordless drill. After trimming I use an RCBS case prep center to chamfer.

I put gauge/cutter side in a drill press and just let it run continuously. Works great. And then ream inner/outer case mouth.

Lee is very reasonable when it comes to the price for custom length gauges for their cutters. I don't use them anymore, but I think it was less than $15 for the one for the 500L
