I grabbed (another) SBH from LGS recently. Fine condition, accurate with Grizzly 260 WFNCC. Have not fed it handloads yet.
One issue though.... the same individual chamber extracts fired brass with much more effort than normal, leaving a "scratch" along the side of the brass, seeming like there is a burr inside. I will take a good look with magnification when everything else demanding my attention gets dealt with.
Is that something I can remedy without buying some tool I do not own and have never used before? I've never tinkered with the inside of a cylinder.
Do I send just the cylinder off to have a pro smooth it up?
Suggestions?
Cost?
I have more 45 Colt Rugers than 44s (plus a FA 454 and a 3rd gen Colt SAA) BUT occasionally the SBHs get their turn because of the nostalgia from my very 1st SBH way long ago before I became fond of 45s.

To chase potential burrs,, I often use a Q-Tip in tight places to see if I get any cotton pulled off, or left behind. It's easier to spot than the burr sometimes. And it tells you where to work on things.
I have several tools and do a lot of my own work if I feel I can do it. Otherwise,, I'd recommend a trip to see Fermin for smoothing up.

Is it stainless or blued? Most of the stainless guns I have had some tooling marks everywhere.
Flexhone makes a cylinder hone especially to polish chambers. They're about $30. On stainless I prefer the 400 grit, 800 on blue. A little Kroil on it and a few seconds with a cordless drill will polish them up shiny. Just try to stay out of the throats.

I have used the Flexhone successfully in a Single Six that would have sticky extraction unless perfectly clean. Did not need to remove any burrs with it though.

Check your ratchet for burrs. I’ve had similar issues and that has always been the problem. The cotton ball or Q-tip suggestion above works great.
