cdcash, Thanks for posting that picture. I tried enlarging it, and it looks like it may be a spiller & burr. I'm looking at the front part of the frame, just forward of the cylinder, and it appears to be solid from the barrel to the cylinder. (Later model Spiller & Burrs were made that way due to using brass for the frame). Whitney revolvers had a space between the frame & cylinder. You can see the threads on the end of the barrel that was screwed through the frame to the cylinder. If possible, could you scan that picture and email it to me? I would like to see if that would provide more detail. It's a great id'ed picture. Thanks, ltdan@whitneyrevolver.com

Edit: looks like there is a virus that comes in with that photo on photobucket or the Tennessee SCV site. I can't figure out where this is happening. Very sorry for this....I have never experienced this happening.
