Everyone who harps on it being impractical or having no purpose doesn't play the steel challenge game.
I've got a Caspian double stack race gun tailor built for 38super 90gr 750fps loads. Full compensator and all. Blistering fast and no muzzle rise.
I would consider one of those Glocks for the stock division as a good choice if the accuracy is there.

I have to admit the fluted bullets, whatever they call them, does make it a little more effective.
I really like my little Ruger LCP II. It's remarkably accurate and hides in the pocket nicely.
I still consider it a miss in a full size gun. But, did see a Single Six converted to 380 once. Never understood that either.
It'll be interesting to see if this one catches on. So far Glock has avoided the 30 Super Carry...

A Glock in .38 Super is possible but has to be on the large frame...Supers are too long for the 19 size mags.
There were Super barrels available for the G40 but the modification of the 10mm magazine lips was tricky and iffy.
.357 SIG dropps right in and is like a laser..

Bob ***** Bob.... not sure how we shift from a .380 into a .357 SIG, yet the digressions can be informative. As a practical matter, a recoil comparison between the sub-compact Glock 27 .40 S&W and its G33 twin in .357 SIG, recoil from the .40 was sensible while the .357 had a nasty bite. About 35 years ago a maker chambered a straight-blowback pocket pistol in 9mm Luger: vicious recoil. David Bradshaw

Agree...
Have a G23 and G35 with extra .357 SIG barrels and the .357s have a definite snap to them.
That said some of the hotter .40s aren't exactly fun to shoot either.
Don't think I've fired 100 rounds of .40 in my life despite having several guns that will fire the round. After shooting them I can understand how a lot of non-shooter LEOs had a hard time qualifying vs a 9mm...

Davids post is a good one. In my experience and shooting I feel the 32 acp, when loaded to European standards and not the anemic U.S. ones, is a much more effective cartridge then the 380 and mainly because of it's smaller diameter bullet penetration. Another small round that I've loved since a teen is the 22 Winchester Magnum rimfire. In fact I just recently bought a new S&W 22 magnum with the TEMPO barrel system and I can attest it's fanstastic. Grew up with the round and it wasn't what I would can very accurate until recently where they improves the rifles that shoot it. Back to the S&W it's amazingly accurate for a pistol. I have a S&W 617 revolver that is extremely accurrate with the 22 LR cylinder in it. The Mag cylinder it's so so, and the TEMPO out shoots it. The TEMPO holds 30 rounds in the magazine and one up the spout.
Now as the high velocity 30 caliber pistol rounds require a larger pistol to handle the pressure, true, but in my opinion the Tokarev pistol is not what I would call big or large. One thing it's very thin, and being made of all steel it's not really heavy. Imagine what it would weigh with an aluminum frame or "yuck" a polymer frame.
