Unfortunately I bought a used Bowen target rear sight from this forum a while back that has problems. It had been taken apart. I didnt even pay attention until many months later. But a big waste. I hope the seller was unaware of the condition. The c-clip that holds the screw in place will not stay. I swapped and still not working. Has a tiny bearing that makes the click sounds. What a PIA. Anybody ever rebuilt one? Frustrating because I paid basically what I could have bought one new for, but I wanted one during one of the outages. Now they are out forever. This one is my last backup. Was hoping it would work.

Can you post a picture of the failed part(s)? On worn shafts sometimes pinching the clip on after putting it in place with a good pair of needle nose pliers can help temporarily. It doesn't seem like a rear sight should really wear out unless it was a competitive shorter always cranking for range over and over. Did someone vastly over tighten it?

The clip may be the problem. I install it fine. Once I turn the adjustment screw it backs out rather than staying retained.

I’d give Bowen a call, maybe after Christmas though. They still are making the sights they are just backed up and busy. I swim in a vast sea of ignorance but I imagine they are short on the parts that take time to machine, the blades and bases. They probably have a ready supply of all the other little pieces and springs. This is the first time I’ve heard of a problem with one, they are so sturdy! I’ll bet he fixes it for free.

I called Bowen with a question on how to reassemble one I bought. He said don't try it, just send it to us. Fixed it for free.
