Should be a fine bullet choice but some flat nose designs have feeding troubles in carbines. If you can buy some bullets to try first might be wise to give it a go first.

That bullet is great but many of the MP carbine bullets have a long driving band that is not revolver friendly.
I suggest you look at the 640 design. It's excellent.

Thank you both for the insight.
Does the 640 design have sufficient lube groove capacity for a 20" barrel or am I concerned needlessly?

My revolvers never shot the 45 carbine bullet as accurately as many other bullets I cast. My favorite for all 45 colts is the mp 454 270saa. It was purpose designed to fill colt saa cylinder lengths. A lot of good load data is available.
The carbine bullet has mega wide meplat. To be honest it never ran well in my marlin 1894. I dont know what lever gun it was made for, but it wasnt mine.

The MP 45-270 SAA feeds great and are accurate in my Rossi R92's. My .45 Colt cast bullets are all powder-coated and sized at .454 with no leading.

Got the 275 carbine mold for my Winouko 92 but haven't got it hot yet. Had good luck with a 270 SSA AND A 454424 IN A 94AE Trapper, but sent it down the road when I came upon an 92 Trapper take down.
That mold was designed for the lever action carbines so it should be a good one.
Do a search over on castboolits to see the results of the group buy.

Thanks everyone. The 270 SAA looks like the winner.
