Picked up a couple boxes a week or two ago at a LGS. They shoot pretty good in my FA M83 357.

Handgunners latched onto the Speer .358 180 grain Flat Point during the formative days of Handgun Silhouette. My guess, the bullet was developed for the .35 Remington deer cartridge. Adherents of the .357 Auto Mag and .357 Mag revolvers proved it with podium accuracy. It was one of the first bullets I loaded in prototype .357 Maximums. Believe it was a Speer .358 180 FP Alaska bush pilot and IHMSA silhouetter Tom McGuire squeezed from his Dan Wesson M40 .357 Maximum to take a grizzly. David Bradshaw

I used them in my 8 3/8's 357 S&W in my first ever Silhouette match at Filmore, Utah on new years eve 1976 or 77, can't remember. It was legal then but you had to load it single shot in 38 special brass. Elgin sent a match package down with me & also 2 big trophy plague's. One for Curt Plexaco & the other one for a young guy, geez I was young myself! A young guy that lived in Filmore but I can't remember his name, they were both voted onto the first All American team. I used that bullet in a couple more matches, and I remember if the sun was just right you could see them arc high above the rams then slowly drop back down & hit them...kind of fun but it took a while for them to get there.

Picked up a couple boxes a week or two ago at a LGS. They shoot pretty good in my FA M83 357. Are you able to crimp at the cannelure and still have a short enough OAL for the cylinder of an 83, or are you deep seating and crimping on a different cannelure you apply to the bullet? I have considered this bullet for my 9" barreled FA 83. Thanks, Freeze

I trimmed .38 Special and .357 Mag brass to roll crimp in the cannelure of Speer, Hornady, and Sierra .358 rifle bullets for various revolver cylinders. Dropping the trim idea to DEEP SEAT and roll crimp on ogive. Note, I load slow----no fast or medium----pistol powders with rifle bullets in a .357. David Bradshaw
