When I got my first SA revolver (Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt), a long time friend and member here (contender) told me to get the Belt Mountain pin and I did and loved it. Any new to me Ruger SA revolver gets this treatment. Hope someone takes over production to keep them coming.

First it was the Punch bullet and now the base pins! Dang it.

It is a sad day. Belt Mountain has been the standard in Ruger replacement base pins for some time. I always notice on gunbroker auctions when a Belt Mt pin is present, it means the previous owner knew what they were doing.
$36 per #5 pin was the best deal in six gun accessories. Since 2019 about everything has doubled in price. Fermin Garza sights and Belt Mountain pins were the exception and now one of those is gone.
I have no doubt these pins will resurface eventually. They will probably be $90 ea when they do. I will still buy them for all my new guns at that price if they are of the same quality. That's a big if.

After reading over this thread, I was kind of wondering the same thing. Contacted the owner last week, & he accepted my order for two knurled pins, & latches. One for my .480 SBH, & for the NM .45 flattop. Still wondering though actually. Did I just slide in right under the wire?

Got my #5 Midframe Base Pins today. I now have 16 in reserve.
5 Blackhawk, 5 Single Six and 6 Midframe Blackhawks. Mostly #5, but a few Knurled. Assorted Stainless and Blued. I wish Kelye a great retirement, but don't want to be without these pins.
Kelye, thanks for the great product for years. Huey...

How many great products have we seen disappear with or without warning?
I do tend to hoard many items, but am rarely without what I need.
Many times thru the years I've also been able to help out forum members and gunsmiths.
Many of my hoard came from a retiring gunsmith who I'd helped with parts as he slowly finished his last guns.
While spare parts are great, friends are better...

There are 2 kinds of people in this world, those who live for tomorrow, and those who live like there is no tomorrow, I see nothing wrong with being prepared for whatever may, or may not come, being called a hoarder seems a bit harsh to me, when the opportunity has been there for years, for everyone, I never ordered my basepins one at a time

Kelyes pins have been excellent and Ive been a loyal customer. Unfortunately alternatives will be required to fill our needs. You guys who bought extras, good going. The standard pins that look like Ruger pins interest me none and the Colt style have limited application in my collection.
Recently,I purchased a few from Power Custom. They were glad to take my order. Hopefully they will be around a long time. Their no5 pin head is a hair larger diameter but a bit shorter. It looks really nice on my vaquero and midframe blackhawk frames. They bevel the left upper edge of the no5 pin head so it doesnt rub on the ejector rod housing.

Hell, I'd give $90 right now for a Belt Mountain blued #5 Bowen style for an old model Blackhawk without the safety upgrade if one of you hoarders had an extra you would part with. . I got to the party late. The one with the slot head screw that goes into the hole you have to drill in the barrel. Not the little set screw that pushes against the barrel.

with all the comments about the demise of bm products - it would sound like something ronnie wells or fermin garza could pick up and run with.....
