I can't say enough good about this place. Some years back I bought a new Ruger Stainless Blackhawk in .45 Colt. I own several Ruger single actions, and never had an an issue with any of them.
However this one would back out the cylinder pin, tying up the gun with most every shot. Even with light cast bullet loads. I toyed with the idea of sending it back to Ruger, but admittingly I didn't have the patience to wait.
So I gave up until I came across Belt Mountain Enterprises, and their custom made, locking cylinder pins. I ordered one, and it fit perfectly! I headed to the range with 2 boxes of the hottest handloads I had in .45 Colt, and had at it.
The pin performed perfectly! All 100 rounds and not a single issue with the cylinder pin backing out. Needless to say I couldn't be more pleased. The machining quality of these pins is excellent. They fit much better than the standard Ruger pins.
If anyone has any issues with cylinder pins backing out, get in touch with Belt Mountain Enterprises! You will be glad you did.

Kelye has a sterling and well earned reputation on this forum and in the revolver world in general.
For most (if not all) of us adding one of his base pins is Modification #1 when we buy a revolver...

A low cost, simple upgrade, almost a must do

I should add that I tried the pin both locked in place with the Allen set screw, and with it loose. Either way the pin stayed locked into position. But it's nice having the set screw as added security.

They're out of #5's right now. I should buy a couple extra when he's back in stock.

Top shelf company! They used to have a better cross pins available as well. Good replacements to your battered factory pin. Very good quality

I've never had a Ruger base in back out, even with several OM and NM SBHs.
The only one I ever witnessed doing so was someone else's 357 BH. I honestly thought it was a myth before that.
HOWEVER, I've never been a fan of the Ruger pin as far as getting a grip on it and the Belt Mountain Base Pin with the large, knurled end has become a favorite and the first thing I did to any Ruger SA I bought after I discovered it. I don't use the set screw and don't know if I needed better alignment, but I love to be able to get a good grasp on the thing.
It looks a lot nicer than stock too.

I recently mailed payment for three pins and three latches. Can't wait to install them. I have only ever had stock pins and latches. One of them will not have the lock screw because it is for a 3.75" Bisley 45 convertible. So, the pin can not have a standard head or I would have to remove the ejector housing to remove the cylinder. Kelye was good at communicating this to me.

Hi Kelye, I saw your post….
“ Not a lot left. I haven't found anyone to take over production”
Does this mean your base pins are out of production? I was planning to put in an order if you are still making them.
Many thanks. Marc
