Len, you're right about Mike Barranti, great guy & great gun leather, he truly is a master holster maker. Now remember it does't cost any more to tell a little bit about your gun, we like to hear about those things, speak up! ;D

This gun is a victim of the real estate crash. A friend and I wanted to build a couple of #5 style guns. We had intended on starting with in the white USAF flattops but after a years wait we gave up.
The Colt New Frontiers were selling for quit a bit less than the USAF's so we bought two and while USAF's are fine guns I am very happy with the decision and the Colt name on my frame.
Andy Horvath built the guns we opted for the adjustable rear sights and Weigand changeable front sights. Andy was willing to make the guns as original as we wanted extended top strap adjustable front sight but since we use the guns we preferred sights we could see and extending the top strap wasn't that important to us.
We used the Colt 44 special barrel, a 357 cylinder re-chambered and properly throated. Andy made the # 5 cylinder pin release back strap and hammer as well as some modification to the action. The action work is superb and it is the best trigger I have.
Then came the housing collapse both guns were meant to be engraved and stocked in carved ivory. The maple stocks were temporary stocks Horvath made so I could play with the gun while it was in the white. One of these days I hope to complete the gun.

Nice looking iron! I like the all blue un engraved look myself. Now, a set of persinger carved ivory would be just the ticket
