She`s first year production and what I find interesting is that I could have bought the gun new when first issued but had no interest. Add some time and wisdom and interest`s change. In great condition with box and its a find that`s similar to a first year 657 I found on a Texas auction site... Paid $695 for M-67

One of my favorite guns. I used one to certify as a Peace Officer firearms instructor. I could shoot better then than any other time of my life.

I have it's more heavily worn and distressed sister. One of the most fantastic shooters I own. When I am having a bad shooting moment I break it out and regain my confidence.

Love the tapered light barrels on the early model 67. Plus cool target grips too! But that one is way too nice to shoot! Now you got to find an "experienced" one for a walk about pistola.

James.... as you know, hammer & trigger on your new acquisition are drop forged carbon steel, case hardened, the flash chromed to look like stainless steel.
Parts drop forged at that time: * hammer * trigger * rear sight body * thumb piece * yoke, rebound slide * cylinder stop * cylinder latch * mainspring * frame * side plate * barrel. David Bradshaw

The way it oughta be!
And that's the way a revolver oughta LOOK! It's beautiful!
Aesthetically and FUNCTIONALLY, I like the profiled barrels and NO underlug. I love the old scant panel grips too - I can get my fingers around them and get the centerline of the bore closer to my firing hand. The target grips would stay in the box.
I'd SHOOT IT, and probably a LOT.
Let the collectors weep at my estate sale - I won't care.
